The Patriots placed tight end Dave Thomas on injured reserve on Wednesday. According to the Boston Globe, Thomas suffered a foot injury during Week 4's victory over the Bengals. He has been replaced on the roster by free agent signee Marcellus Rivers. As the No. 3 tight end on the depth chart, Thomas had no fantasy value. Neither will Rivers.
