NFL 2007-2008 Calendar Season


These are some important dates for this 2007-2008 NFL Season:

June 1

-Deadline for old team to send tender to its unsigned restricted free agents or to extend qualifying offer, whichever is greater, in order to retain rights.-Deadline for old team to send tender to its unsigned unrestricted free agents to retain rights if player is not signed by another club by July 22 or beginning of veteran training camp, whichever is earlier.

June 15

-Deadline for restricted free agents to accept qualifying offer (if higher than 110 percent of previous year's salary)

June 24-27

- NFL/NFLPA Rookie Symposium- PGA National Resort and Spa - Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Late July

- Training camps open

July 22

- Signing period ends at 4:00 p.m. EDT for unrestricted free agents to whom June 1 tender was made by old club and for transition players and franchise players who are subject to the rules for transition players and franchise players.

August 5

- NFL Preseason kicks off with AFC/NFC Hall of Fame Game - Canton, Ohio (Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New Orleans Saints)

August 9-13

- First preseason weekend

August 28

- Roster cutdown to maximum of 75 players

September 1

- Roster cutdown to maximum of 53 players

September 6-10

- Kickoff Weekend
- Thursday, New Orleans Saints vs Indianapolis Colts, 8:30 p.m.
- Sunday, New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys, 8:15 p.m.
- Monday, Baltimore Ravens vs Cincinnati Bengals, 7:00 p.m, Arizona Cardinals vs San Francisco 49ers, 10:15 p.m.
