Jacobs ramping up

Giants running back Brandon Jacobs will see more carries in practice this week and could return Sunday against the Jets. "We will see where he is," head coach Tom Coughlin tells the team's official web site. "He has been cleared obviously to practice last week so we had him take X amount of reps and we will increase the reps this week and see exactly where he is, what his comfort zone is with all the maneuvers that he will have to go through." Jacobs sprained the MCL in his right knee during the second quarter of the season opener against the Cowboys. Given his injury and the solid play of Derrick Ward, the Giants can afford to bring Jacobs back slowly. We'd obviously love it if Coughlin gave us some indication of how he plans to use the two backs this Sunday, but we're not holding our breath.
