Giants head coach Tom Coughlin liked what he saw from Eli Manning on Wednesday, although the quarterback did not practice. "He's going to do a little light soft-toss on the side. He will not take any snaps. But I'm encouraged by his progress," Coughlin tells the team's official web site. "He's less sore than he was the day before. The swelling is way down. So I'm encouraged by that." Manning is day-to-day due to a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder. Jared Lorenzen is working with the first team in his place. The Giants previously said that Manning would not try to practice until Friday, if even then. We're probably looking at a game-time decision here.
