Mike Minter might be headed for a reserve role in the Panthers secondary. The Charlotte Observer reports that it's possible that Minter will take a backseat to either Nate Salley or Deke Cooper at free safety. Newcomer Chris Harris has been pegged as the starting strong safety. Minter took a big pay cut prior to the season and has already announced that he will hang up the cleats at the end of the season. He's still listed as a starter on the depth chart, but that could change before Week 1.
