Dolphins: Mueller gets extension

General manager Randy Mueller was given a two-year contract extension on Wednesday.

According to the Miami Herald, Mueller's original three-year, $2.1 million deal that ran through June of 2008 has been extended through 2010. "Randy is one of the most respected general managers in the NFL, and we value the work that he has done here the past two years," Dolphins president Bryan Wiedmeier said."We believe that with this extension, coupled with the addition of Cam Cameron as head coach, our franchise is headed in the right direction."

Mueller butted heads with former coach Nick Saban, but when the strong-minded Saban left town it made sense for the Dolphins to lock up Mueller, who has a good reputation despite the Dolphins' slide over the last couple of seasons.
