Not only will Alex Smith not start Sunday's game, but he will be third on the depth chart. "It's a matter of reps more than anything," coach Mike Nolan said of the decision to make Smith No. 3, according to the Contra Costa Times. Smith is recovering from a shoulder injury and might be ready to start next week. For now, though, Trent Dilfer will start and be backed up by Shaun Hill.
