Jake Delhomme acknowledged that surgery is a last resort option for his injured right elbow. However, he said he believes he can treat it through rehabilitation. Delhomme also told the Charlotte Observer that he is hopeful of playing on Sunday against the Saints. Delhomme owners have no choice but to sit back and play the waiting game at this point. He has yet to throw a pass since he suffered the injury back in Week 3, but he intends to test his elbow during practice this week.
