The Panthers placed Nate Salley on season-ending injured reserve on Wednesday, according to the Charlotte Observer. He has been sidelined by a knee injury since mid-training camp. Salley had been penciled in as a starter before he suffered the injury. This is a tough break for the Panthers, as safety is clearly an area of weakness for their defense.
