The Falcons signed Byron Leftwich to a two-year contract on Tuesday. The deal is worth $6 million, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He will be the No. 3 quarterback on the depth chart behind Joey Harrington and Chris Redman once he reports for practice. It shouldn't take Leftwich long to rise to the top of the quarterback depth chart. However, he must learn Bobby Petrino's spread offense first. He is not expected to be active for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
