Running back Ahman Green doesn't mind sharing carries with Ron Dayne. "You keep defenses honest because you switch up the speed of the game," Green told the Houston Chronicle. "That throws a defense off, honestly, when you have a guy that's fast and makes slashes and cuts like myself. Then Ron can do the same but carries a little bit more of a load. That makes defenses scratch their head come the third or fourth quarter." Green carried 16 times for 73 yards in the Texans' season-opening win over the Chiefs, while Dayne added 33 yards on 13 carries. Yeah, that change of pace is a killer; with Green and Dayne it's like a changeup pitcher mixing in a knuckleball. Worst of all, it saps Green of what little fantasy value he held, especially if Dayne gets the money carries. Give Ahman even half of Dayne's carries and he's looking at a 100-yard day; of course, at his age he's also probably breaking down by week eight. Right now the Texans' backfield is the complete opposite of helpful to fantasy owners—shocking, really, for a Shanahan disciple.
