The Jaguars signed a rookie safety Thursday, but it wasn't first-round pick Reggie Nelson. Josh Gattis, the second of the team's three fifth-round selections, signed with the team on Thursday, according to the Florida Times-Union. Terms were not disclosed.
Gattis is expected to be groomed as a potential replacement for veteran strong safety Donovin Darius, who has battled injuries each of the past two seasons.
