Federal authorities have opened their own investigation of the alleged dogfighting that took place on Michael Vick's property in Virginia. "I never imagined such interest," county attorney Gerald Poindexter told Friday's Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Obviously if the fed come in, the jurisdictional basis is some sort of interstate violation. We don't know what it is—he training of dogs, gambling, racketeering, whatever they want to call it." Vick has not been formally charged with any crime.
The NFL has a local agent tracking developments in the case. In other words, they are keeping a close eye on the situation and Vick could face a suspension of some type. We'll keep fantasy owners updated on his status as further information is released.
